The Ohr

Do we actually exist and if we do am I who I am?

In reality we are a part of Hashem. Picture the suns rays (if that's at all possible). Now that ray starts out in the sun or better yet that ray starts out as the sun. In reality we are a part of Hashem. We're like the suns rays when it is the sun and that's why it really make no sense that we don't recognize it. Because if I am the Sun how can I feel like a ray?

This seems to be the question the Alter Rebbe is asking at the end of Perek 3 of Shaar HaYichud VeHaEmunah. How can the world exist?
And to answer because He hides Himself doesn't answer the question at all. For no matter how much He hides Himself you won't feel like something different then what yo are.
Therefore the Alter Rebbe answers, that this is something beyond our intellect. It's something we can never understand.

Yes Yossi,
I believe we had many conversations in the past regarding your comment.
